All About the North Bennet Street Toolbox
For many, the toolbox serves as a badge of honor, but for the instructors at the school, the toolbox is an important teaching tool that covers an array of hand-tool and machine techniques.
In this video workshop you’ll get a taste of what it’s like at the North Bennet Street School. So sit back, grab a notebook, and learn how to build a toolbox, the North Bennet Street way.
In this introductory episode, Matt Wajada gives you a quick overview of this complex project and explains what will be covered in this Video Workshop.

Can you tell me when the rest of the episodes will be loaded? I see then intro and Ep1 only.
thank you
John
There are about twenty episodes coming. Usually one a week, but since this build is so massive, there is a few weeks that I will be posting two or three episodes.
Are plans forthcoming?
Yes! We are working on them right now. Should be a few weeks.
I've only watched the intro and you've already made me incredibly happy. When I read that you decided to just let the recorder roll and you have over 6 hours of material, I about yelled out loud. That's awesome!
The video workshops have been an essential and fantastic part of my development as a woodworker. Keep 'em coming!
Thanks, Ben!
This series is worth the price of admission all by itself. Thank you! Cannot wait for the next videos to drop
Finally some great new videos! I was starting to get withdrawals. Keep 'em coming. Thanks.
Love this video. Eager to see the rest. Thank you!
Great series. Enthralling even for a novice woodworker.
Can't wait to see this series love the work all these guys put into their tool boxes.
Would it be possible to get downloadable copy's of these video's. I currently do not have the time to watch them with full concentration, and I am afraid they will disappear from your website by the time I can watch them.
Worry not. They're not going anywhere!
Matt is a very good teacher. A good teacher can take a broad topic and simplify it so all can understand. North Bennett Street School is very lucky to have him.
This is one of the best instructional videos I have seen. Matt is a very fine teacher. The videos are nicely paced and full of useful insights. Well done also to Ben for making such a beautiful series and not being afraid to take the time necessary to get full benefit of Matt's instruction.
I'm really glad you're enjoying it! The response so far has been amazing. Jeff Roos deserves as much credit as anyone though. His work behind the camera and editing makes it all happen!
Great project and videos. I want to make two of these for my two young grandsons. Any plans coming? I think the proportions are perfect and even just the dimensions would be a great help.
Plans are very close. We just need to proof them.
Any word on the plans. Also, where did the hardware come from?
I was just told that it should be the end of this week. Knobs are from Lee Valley. Brass table pins are Rockler item #32334. The lock is from Schaff Piano Supply Co. item #S-553B.
Hey Ben,
Plans coming? I know there are plans on the site from 2010 - but there were new ones to go along with this video series coming correct? :)
I was just told that it should be the end of this week.
Thanks for the update Ben!

This series is amazing. I have found myself watching it over and over as I work through different projects to refresh myself on the techniques and every time I watch it, I pick something up.
