This is amazing. What talent & patience. Watching this bowl being created I now see the use for these simple yet complex tools. True craftsmanship and artistry coming together.
Really enjoying seeing the whole process.
Thank you FWW. Seeing these types of lessons are what keep me coming back to the best woodworking forum available.
Dave is a resource in bowl craftsmanship. His observational and creative skills are amazing and he has mastered his teaching skills without any layer of ego. I can't wait to start and build my first bowl!
"Dave Dun Gud" - Thank you for this presentation.
Such a relaxed presentation. It's like I'm right there with him. Thanks for letting me look over your shoulder, Dave!
Another high quality in-depth video. Keep up the excellent work FWW. This is compelling stuff!
Super video! Super instruction. Great to watch a super craftsman at work. My only complaint is that we didn't get to see the finish of the bowl. I would have easily watched for another two hours with a smile like a kid on my face!
There's more coming.
This series has been so awesome. Not at all my area of expertise, but becoming my area of curiosity. Always fun to watch someone work in a category of the medium that is foreign to you. I have enjoyed this so much, thanks to you and Dave for letting us experience this. Can't get enough of this.
Thank you! Really enjoyed this series of videos from a master craftsman.
Terrific, one of the best of the teaching series & I watch and rewatch to fully appreciate all. Thanks to the craftsman and FW
Ben, are there any plans to make this available as a DVD?
It would be helpful for those with internet speed problems.
I would buy it if it is available.
Unfortunately, no plans for a DVD at this time.
Great video and skill. I think I would want a thick leather apron if I was going to try it. 😀
I never had any interest in carving but your relaxed and precise approach makes me want to try. I have several ash tree offcuts, quite large, to work with. I was amused about the mention of a woodturning stove; it's 112 here in Houston today, and winter lasts about 3 days. Full sun for curing is not a problem.
