What would be the problem from leaving the sapwood since the bowl is going to be dried slowly?
No problems, it's purely aesthetic.
Where is the rest?
They're coming. We release on or two a week.
My Drawknife was fighting me all the way through the process even after sharpening. Perhaps I lacked the skill level to make it work...I changed to a Jack Plane and all went "smoothly". I also thought I didn't need the 'stickem'...I was wrong. Thanks so much for posting these videos David Fisher!
P.S. I've ordered another Drawknife.
Just catching up! I hope the new drawknife worked much better. The biggest factor is proper sharpening, but the geometry of the particular drawknife itself makes a big difference. A plane is a great way to get the job done too.
