Tim Rousseau’s modern desk might look simple, but a lot goes into making such an elegant piece. While Tim tackles this project with a pro’s perspective using tools found in professional shops, he also draws parallels to tools found in most hobbyist woodshops.
In this episode on making the desk, however, Tim turns to a pro’s workhorse, the shaper, to create the desktop profile and to cut the tongue on each end that fits into the desk’s side aprons. He also shows how to cut the desk top to size, before getting to the joinery.
