The guys at Shop Talk Live tend to denigrate the end vice in a work bench, but I've noticed that Chris uses it a lot.
I became sold on a tail-vise while shooting this video.
Another question about Chris's workbench. I noticed that the dogs rest in the top of the bench and he pushes them up with his fingers. Does he push them from the bottom, or is there some kind of lever on the front of the bench?
In reply to user-4830414, I looked at the plans for the bench. The bench dogs are longer than the bench is thick so it would be easy to push the dogs up from below. There is no mechanism for raising them.
